To my great relief, the PET scan came back with favorable results. You can see from the images below that the lymphoma (showing up as black splotches in my abdomen and near my collarbone) was drastically reduced by late October. I’m not out of the woods entirely, but it was tremendously gratifying to see that the therapy I’ve been going through was so effective. Apparently this also changes the odds for me with regard to surviving lymphoma up to the 80%-or-better range, up from the 50–60% range when I started out. If the PET scan had showed that my chemo drugs were not working, my odds would have dropped down into the 20% range. So I’m glad to be on the high side of that curve, and plan to continue improving.
